The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is a Supercapacitor Hybrid
By lamborghini sian key standards By Lamborghini standards, the Sian FKP 37 is a wild car. It's one of the first hybrid vehicles to make use of supercapacitors.
A 34-hp electronic motor integrated into the automated manual transmission powers the Sian to speeds of up to 80 mph when the V-12 is in charge. This system lets the car accelerate immediately and is more efficient.
Forged Composites
The Sian's hybrid system has another trick up its sleeves: Supercapacitors. It's capable of recharging more quickly than lithium-ion batteries, and the vehicle can be driven for up to 63 minutes using just electric power.
Lamborghini's forging composites will be the main ingredient in this. The material may eventually be used in production vehicles. It starts out as uncured plastic that is mixed with short lengths of randomly placed carbon fiber strands. It's not as attractive as carbon fiber sheets that have been pre-impregnated but it's lighter and stiffer.
Operators cut the carbon fiber to the desired size, then place it into a hot press mould, and squeeze it with heat. It takes just a few minutes however it can take up to hours to create the same piece with traditional methods.
It's not known if we'll ever see structural forged composite components in production cars, but Lamborghini states that its manufacturing efficiency means that the material may eventually find its way into cheaper products. The cost of materials and labor is too high however, if you can expand the manufacturing process and save money, you can make a difference. Forged composites are also more flexible than carbon fiber woven and can be fashioned into complex shapes without the need to add weight or expense.
Carbon Skin
The Lamborghini Sian has a futuristic, sleek design that maximizes aerodynamic efficiency. Its long, sculpted contours and distinctive aero wings create an impressive profile, while its low front and carbon fiber splitter integrated enhance stability. The Y-shaped lights on the front and hexagonal designs which are space key lamborghini classics will further enhance the vehicle's distinctive style. The interior consists of luxurious Italian craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology. The dashboard and the driver's seat are covered with a unique material known as Carbon Skin, which is adjustable thanks to the Ad Personam program.
The hybrid system of Sian is powered by supercapacitors, which combine the power and efficiency of an electric motor along with a 48-volt lithium battery. The speedy-fire torque fills gaps in acceleration, while its regenerative braking helps recharge the battery. This allows the Sian to travel further using just one tank of gas.
Comparing it to a lithium-ion conventional battery, Sian's supercapacitor offers three times the capacity and can be recharged in just 60 seconds. It is also smaller and lighter. The supercapacitor can be found in the bulkhead, between the cabin and lamborghini Huracan Car Key engine compartment, powering a 34-hp electric motor, which is connected to the rear of the vehicle's automatic transmission.
The Lamborghini Sian was based on Aventador SVJ. This means that it is powered by the identical V12 engine. It shares a similar chassis and suspension and the same four-wheel-drive. The hybrid powertrain in the Sian is what makes it stand out.
Ad Personam
Lamborghini has developed its first hybrid car that is based on the Sian. It's an impressive statement. The latest creation of the raging bull makes use of supercapacitor technology to lower its weight-to-power ratio without cutting the power of its V-12 engine.
Ad Personam is a program that allows Lamborghini to customize vehicles for its most loyal customers. This covers everything from leathers to exterior and interior finishes, as well as special paint colors, all of which must meet the strict quality standards.
A complete spec sheet is able to be viewed online, and a consultation can be scheduled at the Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters or via the virtual studio. The latter was designed to allow customers from all over the world to get an individual spec session with the team without needing to travel all the way to Sant'Agata.
The name Sian is a Bolognese word that means lightning. It's a homage to the brand's past as well as its future. The alphanumeric suffix FKP 37 honors Ferdinand Karl Piech, the man who brought Lamborghini into the Volkswagen Group family and died just prior to the Sian's launch. Only 63 examples were produced and they are all spoken for.
Specs
The Sian is inspired by the Aventador SVJ, so it has the same V12 engine and the same suspension and chassis. However, it adds the small electric motor to make it hybrid. It can run on electric power only at lower speeds and use the gasoline engine for acceleration whenever needed.
The supercapacitor is located in the bulkhead that separates the cabin from the engine compartment. It's three times more powerful than a battery of the exact weight, and three times lighter. The system recharges itself on the go via regenerative brakes. Therefore, there's no requirement to connect it to an electrical grid. The emotor helps fill the torque gap during upshifts so that the car can move 10 percent faster than it would without it.
Lamborghini Huracan Car Key claims that the design of its hybrid Sian is designed to convey an open-top sense of raw energy. The exterior is a mix of carbon fiber and orange paint, while the roof is a glass-based section that was inspired by the Periscopio on the early Countach prototypes. Other highlights include aluminum details painted in Oro Electrum, which is the color that Lamborghini uses to identify its hybrid cars.
Inside, the Sian has a cockpit that was designed by lamborghini car key's chief of design, Mitja Borkert. The car is a little more wild than typical for Lamborghini with its numerous creases and cuts. It's almost becoming absurd, but it's an attractive car. The driver sits behind a steering wheel that is not button-less with massive paddle shifters and the infotainment screen has a vertical orientation.
